Truth or lie

i've always been taught that
honesty's the best policy
i've had my fair share
of punishments
for lying
but
when i
do decide to
tell the truth similar
fate befalls on me *roll eyes
what's happened has happened
but
i'll never know
whether to lie or to tell the truth
cause owning up led to more misery
